Apprentice Program Through April ABA

Program Overview

The April ABA Apprentice Program is a program intended to prepare candidates with the knowledge needed to pass the exam and the performance skills needed to be a confident BCBA. Throughout the program, apprentices can experience:

Receive in-depth training in ABA principles and techniques from our experienced clinicians.

Support to apply to colleges & universities: We have strong connections with local and national colleges and universities to support you with the application and admissions process.

Program rotations in OBM, severe behavior, leadership, research, early learners, and adult care.

Practicum curriculum built in conjunction with your educational curriculum. What you learn in the classroom, you can apply in the environment at the same time.

Supervision from BCBAs with more than 5 years experience.

Training and continuing education from clinical experts in the field.

Gain hands-on experience working with children in various settings under close supervision.

Program Structure

Intensive Training

Comprehensive online and in-person training modules covering ABA fundamentals, ethical guidelines, and practical skills
Interactive workshops and case studies to reinforce learning
Regular assessments to ensure mastery of key concepts

Shadowing and Observation

Opportunities to observe BCBAs and RBTs working with clients in various settings
Debriefing sessions to discuss observations and ask questions
Gradual increase in responsibilities under close supervision

Hands-On Experience

Supervised sessions working directly with clients to implement treatment plans
Ongoing feedback and coaching from experienced clinicians
Progressive independence in delivering ABA therapy services

Exam Preparation and Certification

Dedicated study groups and resources to prepare for the BCBA certification exam
Mock exams and practice sessions to build confidence and test-taking skills
Assistance with the certification application process
