No Surprises Act
June 14, 2024
At April ABA (including April ABA LLC, April ABA of OH LLC, April ABA of Indiana LLC, and April ABA of Kentucky LLC), we are committed to transparency and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including the No Surprises Act.
The No Surprises Act is a federal law that went into effect on January 1, 2022. The Act aims to protect clients from unexpected medical bills and provides them with the right to receive accurate information about their healthcare costs.
In accordance with the No Surprises Act, we hereby inform our clients that:
- April ABA will provide a GoodFaith Estimate of the expected charges for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to all self-pay and uninsured clients, or upon request from clients with insurance coverage.
- The GoodFaith Estimate will include a description of the ABA services, the diagnosis codes, and the expected charges associated with each service. The estimate will be based on the information known at the time of scheduling or requesting the services.
- The GoodFaith Estimate is not a contract and does not obligate the client to obtain the listed services from April ABA. Actual charges may differ from the estimate based on the client's individual needs and the services actually provided.
- In the event that the actual charges substantially exceed the GoodFaith Estimate, clients have the right to dispute the bill through a specified dispute resolution process.
- April ABA will inform clients of any changes to the expected charges as soon as practical, and will provide an updated GoodFaith Estimate upon request.
- April ABA will not balance bill clients for ABA services in excess of the applicable in-network cost-sharing amounts, unless the client consents in advance to receive the services from an out-of-network provider.
